We offer free and confidential counselling services to all Olds College students. College can be one of the best times of your life, but also one of the most stressful. Students often find themselves challenged both personally and academically. Our counsellors focus on safety and change. Our commitment is to help you improve your personal, social, and/or academic well-being using a short-term therapy model.


Group Offerings and Training

This category is where you will find and training sessions or groups that Health and Wellness put on throughout the year.

Having grown up and lived in many places across Canada and Europe, Alisha was immersed in diverse cultures and perspectives that continue to shape her approach to therapy. Upon returning to Canada, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Queen’s University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and continues to expand her knowledge with ongoing training and education. Now based Alberta for the past 9 years, she brings a compassionate and globally informed perspective to her work with students.

Alisha is dedicated to creating an accepting and inclusive space where individuals feel supported in exploring their concerns. In her work, she support students experiencing anxiety, mood concerns, trauma, ADHD, and other mental health challenges. She also helps individuals manage stress, build resilience, and navigate transitions in their academic and personal lives. Her approach draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities, tailoring sessions to your individual needs, and equipping you with skills to meet your goals in a way that works for your life.

Jen grew up on a family farm outside of Old’s, and has enjoyed caring for animals her whole life. She is passionate about helping people learn about themselves. Her counseling approach includes a client centered perspective, strength based and solution focused, while remaining flexible and open to individual needs. Jen strives to bring a patient, nonjudgmental, and empathetic presence to support individuals journey to better mental health.

Carla grew up in Gadsby and later Stettler, Alberta. She was raised in a family supported by both agriculture and oil and gas. Carla went on to earn a Diploma in Rehabilitation Services from Red Deer College, a Bachelor Degree in Community Rehabilitation & Disability Studies from the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine and eventually a Master of Science Degree in Psychology. Carla is life-long learner and aims to be Dr. Carla by the end of 2025. In her two decades of counselling, Carla has worked as a school counsellor, a counselling clinical supervisor in public education, as a seniors counsellor in home care, as a consultant in the public healthcare system and nearly a decade ago as a counsellor at Olds College. She is absolutely delighted to be back working on campus and supporting students to their fullest potential.
